Marilyn Fairman
In the tradition of the Impressionist painters of the Hudson River School of Art, Marilyn can be seen painting "en plein air" throughout all the seasons of the year. Marilyn has a Master's Degree in Studio Art and a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in Painting from the State University of New York at New Paltz. Marilyn's paintings are in collections in the United States and Europe. She is a Signature Member of both the International Plein Air Painters Worldwide Organization and the New York Plein Air Painters; a member of the Catskill Plein Air Painters and Leader of the Mohawk Region Chapter of the New York Plein Air Painters.Through her impressionist paintings, Marilyn strives to capture mood and light. Natural light and its play on the day has always drawn her to search out unexpected light and unusual color combinations that occur in nature. Her focus is to paint those "special moments when light is flowing over fields and trees - That special light which transforms a landscape and speaks of a time of day that will quickly pass." |
